Why Safelight?

Every screenshot, table, and number in this school comes from one invented universe. Here is how that happened.

A safelight is the dim red lamp you work under in a darkroom. Bright enough to see by, the one wavelength the paper can't register - the only light that doesn't ruin the picture. It is the accent color on every page here, and it is the name of the venue you will spend fifty lessons advertising.

Safelight is a 550-capacity room in Boston. Archie is a touring artist. Contact Sheet Records is the label. None of them exist. The account IDs are made up, the spend figures are made up, and that Event Match Quality score of 7.2 is made up too.

Nobody's numbers to publish

Real client spend belongs to real clients. Inventing it means we can show you the whole account instead of a cropped, blurred corner of one.

Screenshots rot

Meta reships the interface constantly. A course full of stale screenshots teaches you last year's buttons. Recreations teach you this year's logic.

One story, fifty lessons

A single invented world lets each lesson build on the last. Module 4 names the campaign. Module 9 gets it rejected. Module 10 reviews the wreckage.

The interfaces in this school are recreations: layout and information architecture, drawn from scratch, no logos, no trademarked marks. They exist so the real thing feels familiar the first time you open it.

And yes - the names are darkroom jokes. Contact sheets, safelights, developing. If you print, you already got them.
